APHE TC Instructors: Please review the Renewal Checklists below and complete the necessary tasks to renew your AHA Instructor certificate.
- I am renewing my current AHA Instructor Certification.
- I have taught at least 4 classes of this discipline in the past 2 years.
- I am renewing my current AHA Instructor Certification.
- I have taught fewer than 4 classes of this discipline in the past 2 years.
- I am renewing my expired AHA Instructor Certification.
- I have taught at least 4 classes of this discipline in the past 2 years.
- I am renewing my expired AHA Instructor Certification.
- I have taught fewer than 4 classes of this discipline in the past 2 years.
Instructors who are aligned or affiliated with the APHE TC are eligible to renew.
AHA requires that you teach four (4) or more classes or skills sessions in the discipline that you are renewing during your current certification period.
You will be sent a link to the Online Provider Exam. Take and pass the Online Exam and submit the completion certificate.

You will complete BLS Provider Skills & teach a portion of a class or skills sessions while being monitored by an Instructor Trainer (Training Faculty or TF).

To be monitored in-person at an APHE TC class, visit aphed.com to find an available class. Click below to complete the form. You will receive an email confirming the date that you selected.
**This is an APHE class; when the TF has enough information, you may depart and the TF will teach the remainder of the class.
To be monitored virtually, you must have all of your own required videos and equipment to teach your course via Google Meets. Click below to complete the form. You will receive an email confirming the date that you selected.
**This is your class; when the TF has enough information, he or she will depart and you will teach the remainder of the class.
Review the APHE TC Instructor Dashboard and the current APHE TC Instructor Handbook. The Handbook includes all policies for Instructors aligned with APHE TC.
Within a few days of your monitored teaching, you receive an email from DocuSign to complete. This document has the AHA Instructor Monitor Tool, AHA Instructor Renewal and APHE TC Instructor Handbook & Agreement to sign.
The cost of your Instructor eCard is $10. You or your Training Site will be sent an invoice to pay.
Finally, click to review the Instructor Resources webpage. These are the most up-to-date resources and documents to teach.
Once you have completed the DocuSign and made your payment, you have successfully renewed your AHA Instructor certification. You will receive your new Instructor eCard during the month when your current card expires.
